Following the hot remix featuring legendary rapper Redman, Scion’s in-house record label, Scion A/V, enlists groundbreaking hip-hop artist Grand Puba for its next release.
A founding member of the pioneering hip-hop group Brand Nubian, Grand Puba’s track "Get It," will be cut up by four of the dubstep scene’s finest DJs and producers, transforming the hip-hop original into unforgettable club bangers.
On "Scion A/V Remix: Grand Puba," South Yorkshire’s new bad boy, Toddla T, and dubstep authority, Caspa, infuse their booty-shaking beats into the track. The UK’s young Reso delivers his own twisted take with rich musical texture and color, while Scion House Party headliner and LA-native, 12th Planet delivers West Coast dub rhythms.
"Grand Puba’s upbeat musical style pairs perfectly with these four young producers," said Jeri Yoshizu, Scion sales promotions manager. "The dubstep stylings of the featured DJs and producers makes this Scion A/V release the perfect soundtrack for summer."
In its continual effort to show support for artists in the music industry, Scion covers all production, licensing and distribution costs for the A/V projects, and all proceeds go directly back to the artists.
Beginning July 21, 2009, "Scion A/V Remix: Grand Puba" will be available for purchase at all major online retailers and distributed at special Scion-sponsored events.
